I'm a library media specialist at Northern Hills Elementary in Onalaska, WI. I have taught in the district since 2006. Prior to that, I taught in elementary classrooms for 12 years. I have always been an avid reader. Reading has been a wonderful way to learn about myself and the world around me. I'm passionate about finding and promoting materials that provide windows and mirrors for our staff and students. In my free time, I write for the blog Rich in Color. We promote and review young adult materials written by and/or about people of color and people from First/Native Nations.
